Black-Owned beauty brand, Kmoni, had recently launched at Kohls and ASOS with the assistance of Landing’s retail services. To support the brand’s first retail launches, Kmoni wanted to share the founder’s inspiring story and build brand awareness around the small batch-made, holistic skin and bath products. As an emerging, small business, Kmoni looked to Landing to build a plan that would keep the brand successful at retail while securing media attention to position the products apart from the competition.
For Kmoni, Landing honed in on two factors when building its public relations plan: founder Monica’s inspirational story as a female-led and black-ownded business leader as well as the brand’s natural and curative ingredients. The strategy also included a focus on the brand’s launch at Kohls to support an uptick in sales.
Kmoni received coverage in O Magazine, Teen Vogue, Beauty Independent, and more – with several features highlighting the brand’s partnership with Kohls. To date, Kmoni continues to see retail success at both key retailers.
